One-day workshop with Jacob Keshick. Learn the techniques of quillwork and complete a 2” quill birchbark medallion. Bring a brown bag lunch or purchase lunch from Cross Village Mart.
Jacob Keshick is an Anishinaabe living in Northern Michigan who creates birch quill boxes decorated with porcupine quills. Jacob grew up with quillwork from a young age observing firsthand the quillwork of his mother, Yvonne Walker Keshick. Jacob made his first quill box in 1997, he continues to make boxes of various sizes and shapes depicting wildlife, observations, or optical illusions. Yvonne Walker Keshick will make a guest appearance during the workshop.
